Among these was a young man called Holger Krogh. Originally a railway engineer, he was later employed in 1937 by Bang & Olufsen in Struer.

Using the fundamental Bang & Olufsen’s principles, he created this eye-catching bottle opener in his spare time. The bottle opener’s design has remained the same after seventy-three years – It just goes to show that the good things in life are timeless!

Though the design of the opener has not changed at all, the bottle opener has been around in various packaging guises since 1937 – ranging from the red-coloured package containing a bottle opener, given away free as ‘the only Bang & Olufsen product that money really couldn’t buy!’ to the present-day variety in a matt black holder.
